"As of 2011, the market share of high value-added ships is 20%." China has decided to increase the market share of the world's high-tech ship market dominated by South Korea to 20% by 2011, that is, to integrate the shipbuilding industry with high value-added ships as the center.

The Ministry of Industry and Information Technology of China announced on the 5th the “Implementation Rules for the Adjustment and Promotion Plan of the Shipbuilding Industry”, increasing the annual shipbuilding scale to 50 million deadweight tons and increasing the global market share to more than 35%. At the same time, it plans to increase the market share of high-tech ships and marine complete equipment (for example: LNG ships) to 20% and 10%, respectively.

China Economic Daily reported that China ’s world ship market share was 29.5% last year, of which less than 10% used high-tech high value-added ships. To this end, China has formed an investment fund for the shipbuilding industry, expanded R & D investment, and decided to build a marine complete equipment construction base. Construction of world-class shipbuilding parks in the three regions of the Bohai Bay, the Yangtze River, and the Pearl River Delta, with China Shipbuilding Corporation and China Shipbuilding Industry Corporation and other two major shipbuilding groups as the main structural adjustment industry. In addition, the establishment of new shipyards is prohibited in the next three years, and the problem of oversupply caused by mass production of low-priced ships is resolved.

China's key high value-added ship training program is a potential challenge for the Korean shipbuilding industry that expects to undertake large-scale marine equipment in the world. On the 4th, the Chinese government also decided to encourage shipbuilding companies to list and issue bonds through the shipbuilding industry promotion policy to promote the establishment of key investment funds for the shipbuilding industry. Through the three-year shipbuilding industry revitalization policy announced this time, the Chinese government plans to provide financial support to Chinese shipbuilding companies from domestic financial institutions and increase financing for overseas shipowners who order ships from Chinese shipyards.
